Benjamin Light on the subtle genius of Lost this week, Mount Redoubt, the sassiest l33t h@x0r of all time, and the brilliant buddy cop film he and I have been trying to get made for years now. The best part about it? It’s a Scottish buddy cop movie.
Sci-Fi Channel Saturdays: The most dangerous night on television.
I had a dream a few nights ago that I was a few years older and had finally hit the bottom of the barrel: Writing these original sci fi channel movies that you see on Saturday. Or, rather, that you don’t see on Saturday because who watches those? Well, I guess somebody watches them. Anyways, yeah, so in the dream, the script I was working on was The Common Cold, and I won’t go into it too much, but in the dream, I was sitting there at the computer daydreaming up sequences from it while writing, lots of scenes of people getting headaches and sneezing acid germs all over the place. It was really quite disgusting. It was to star somebody like Stephen Baldwin or Lexa Doig or somebody from Stargate SG-1. It was pathetic. And in the dream, I remember being incredibly upset that the other shitty Saturday night movies got cgi pterodactyls and loch ness monsters and el chupacabra… Sigh. Clearly, I watch too much television.
