From Heligoland, which released earlier this year & made #20 on my Top Albums of 2010 So Far list. Posting today because I overplay it just as often now as I did when the album first dropped; perhaps my favorite track of the year thus far, even.
This is also my favorite song from this year as well. I wanted this song to my song of the summer, and what a great summer that would’ve been, but instead “Paradise Circus” became, if not the song I most identified with in some sad way over the summer, than certainly the song I probably listened to the most.
And what I started to realize that, the universe started throwing it in my face. First, it’s used in an episode True Blood. Then, as I’m laying in bed watching the first episode of Idris Elba’s Luther, well, of course “Paradise Circus” had to be the theme song. Of course. And then: this on tumblr.
But that’s okay. It’s a great song. I can’t be shocked that it gets around or is found by people with good taste.
Follows the same plotline as the original series, as we already knew. Subsequent episodes will branch off from the original show’s story.
This trailer will premiere tonight on MTV during Jersey Shore.
It’s so bizarre to watch this all done again, only… “Americanized.” I feel something watching this, but I’m not sure how to describe it yet. Prematurely I would call it a feel that this is less interesting to me set here on these shores. It’ll be bizarre watching this because there’s a weird fascination with which parts they’ll take over exactly from the original show and where they’ll deviate. Seemingly the first episode will follow the original’s pretty closely. Though, from the trailer alone, little things that were changed for seemingly the sake of just changing them seem to bother me intensely. “Tony” translates to an American audience just fine, it seems. “Michelle,” as well. But Sid needs to become “Stanley,” apparently. Really?
Also, something about that kid playing Tony really bothers me.
