I wish more people would co-opt the term “museum”

nerdgasms:

Much like The Tomorrow Museum (blog) and The Museum of Curiosity (radio comedy). But only if they’re going to be clever about it. (I don’t care to see a clothing boutique calling themselves a museum because their selection is oh so carefully curated, for example.)

I agree with this. The Tomorrow Museum’s been on my radar for a while now, but I’ve only just recently started actually reading it and I’ve come to like it quite a bit. And the title, especially. I liked what the author/”curator” of The Tomorrow Museum said about picking the title, that it was “hoped people would mistake it for a real place, as some physical location/organization/backing sponsorship grants a blogger immediate authority.” But then she mentions that thanks to a lot of people’s google alerts, the title sometimes pops up in her head as “Tomorrow: Museum.” I love that too. It’s like, I write at a great, and you know what I’m going to do tomorrow? Curate some more awesomeness.

Anyway, The Tomorrow Museum. Great title for a blog, that. But an absolutely fantastic site to back it up.
