John Lennon “Mind Games”
1. I have always loved this song, definitely one of my favorites of the Lennon solo work.
2. During a dark time in my life when I was homeless, I lived briefly with this friend of mine, sleeping on the floor of his room in the tiny little house he shared with his dad. He, my friend, was fucking this really gross girl who would come over early in the morning (after her boyfriend left for work) so that they could have really loud, really disgusting sex. Thus I would be banished to the living room to try and get some sleep admist what sounded like two animals on cocaine being electroctued. My only means of payback was the the CD player with the speaker system that was ridiculously intricate. The speakers were wired up in every room from that one entertainment center and so as a payback, of sorts, I’d put this song on and just blast it loud on repeat.
