“All Things Go” by Chiddy Bang (Sufan Stevens Chicago sample)
“We can work wonders over logic and reason!” is one of my new favorite rhymes ever. This is so bizarre. Maybe in a good way? Certainly in a bittersweetly euphoric way, much like the original song. It seems so weird to me that a guy like Sufjan Steven could so potently pierce the vein of all musicdom with his one song, and the splattermarks fascinate me, not just being sampled by but really providing the essential DNA for this song, lending it’s title to an old music blog I quite liked, getting named checked in a song by Snow Patrol of all bands, to even helping youtube kids concoct sappy sad student films. I think I’m still buzzing with curiousity from the dichotomy of this track though, something to do with the dichotomy between the chorus’ “all things go!” and “We did it!” I promise I’m reading way too much into all of this.
